RECONNECTING

During my time at Boarding School, I met a fair few Wealthy Nigerians, so it was only Logical that I reconnected with them in Lagos and try to start to build my empire in Nigeria. But these guys had there own plan which did not involve making money. They were really only interested in Partying, Driving Fancy Cars and basically doing fuck all with their lives..  I got invited to a beach party at Taqua Bay at a fellow Old Millfieldian beach house, it was great fun until (TA) showed up with his Girlfriend who was a Air Hostess working for British Caledonian now (BA). When our host introduced him to me, I asked him if he knew who I was or even remembered me to which he said no and then in a rude voice stated who are you and why would I remember you, showing off to everyone that was around. It was the best bloody feeling to tell him about the stereo he stole from me and then pretended that he had returned it back the the owner. He started to call me a liar but then when he realize...

SEARCH & RESCUE - ROAD TRIP

After relocating to Lagos Nigeria, we became a master of all trades, buying and selling anything to make money so we could slowly build our empire ! One of my first tasks was to locate 2 x 20ft Containers that had gone missing after leaving Kaduna for Lagos. I got a Telex informing me that I should go via Jeep to see if I could find the lost containers. Please note that approx 38 years ago companies did most of their work via telex and if you needed to make a call you would have to book a call at the Nitel office .So after receiving the telex from the my father who was in the Uk informing me that I need to locate the lost containers.  We left Tuesday Morning, me wearing a pair of white shorts and white t-shirt, and Five Thousand Naira Cash with me, I had no idea what to expect on the road as everyone kept telling me I was FRESH MEAT!! The only things I took with me were a 2 Pillows, Bedsheet & a Duvet as I planned to sleep in the back of the G Wagon. I did not have any es...

SCHOOL DAYS!

My first school was called Keble which I only managed to attend till the age of 11. The reasons for this was that I was a really slow learner, what took other kids three to four minutes to learn it took me sometimes 30 Minutes or even 3days to understand what the teacher would be trying to explain to everyone and unfortunately my teachers did not realize that I had Dyslexia and i don’t think they really understood this condition in the 70’s  I used to get the slipper or ruler across my backside or on my hands virtually three or four times a week, which lead me to hate going to school. When my mother would drop me to the school gate, she would watch me enter the school premises and then as soon as she had driven off. I would walk out of the gate and walk around for the whole day or I would go and sit in the local park till it was time to be picked up from school. I managed this for approximately 3 days before my parents found out that I was skipping school, they were livid and...

WELCOME TO NIGERIA!

Monday 25th August 2025. I’m very new to this, so let’s see how it goes !! I got invited to Nigeria by my father for a nice relaxing holiday, but as always my father had other plans for me.!! And so the story starts :  I came to Nigeria approx 38years ago. The exchange rate when I landed in Lagos - Nigeria was NGN2.00 to $1.00  My first experience of Nigerian Ladies was on a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Lagos. I had the aisle seat middle row which i think at that time had 4 seats in the middle.! She was carrying with her a sterilising tank half filled with water and baby bottles and all the other items needed for her baby, which she had placed into the overhead compartment. As the flight was taking off all the water from the tank leaked out and I was given my second shower for the day.!! The amazing lady looked at me and just shook her head - “Welcome to Nigeria!”  Landing at Lagos - International Airport was a really big culture shock for me and I guess for anyone ...
