TEENAGE YEARS - PART 2

We moved in to our new place one day after our neighbours at Number  33 moved in, so our place was Number 31. Our neighbours had three kids (2Boys & 1 Girl) and we were (2Girls & 1Boy) Over the first months we lived in either there house or they lived in our place, one of the nicest, down to earth families you could ever wish to meet, over the years I became part of there family and they became part of my family.

Over the years our bond grew and grew even though I was still at Boarding School, I used to look forward to the weekends that I was allowed to travel home to meet my family, but more to meet my neighbours.! - more about this a bit later on

Our Boarding School was based in Somerset, home to Cider and Scrumpy Jack. From our boarding house to school, you used to pass two farms, every Friday Night we would walk down to the local farmer and buy a bottle of home brewed scrumpy jack which cost us for a bottle 15Pence after a couple of sips of this you would be in a different world, my tolerance level for alcohol from the age of 13 to 15 was rather low.

Our school had a lot of kids from different parts of the world, so you got to learn about a lot of things and cultures.

During the lunch break which was approx 90minutes, we were allowed to walk down to the local town which was approximately one mile way would take approximately 10minutes to get to town. The locals never really liked us and on one of our many visits to town they started to tease Princess after about 10minutes of this the Princess turned round to them and told them to shut up, otherwise her family would buy there family out and make them there personal slaves.! After that the local bullies never bothered her again.

In the local town on a Saturday Night the local cinema was reserved for our school and the only way you were allowed to attend was if you had a Girlfriend, as the cinema was the local make out place.! My first trip to the cinema was to meant to have been to watch either Grease or Rocky cannot remember which one came out first, also don’t really remember much of the movie as I was not really paying attention to the movie 😁

On the last weekend before you broke up for summer holidays each boarding house, would put on amazing buffet for the parents, this was a way for the house master to meet your parents and tell them if you had been a good student or a very bad student. In my case it was always a bad student. A few days before all the preparations for the buffet would start, fresh vegetables would arrive, tables, chairs, barbecues would arrive. By mistake the caterers had left three huge boxes of tomatoes 🍅 out, when the house master had locked up and gone to sleep, six of us decided to borrow the tomatoes and have a huge tomato fight, for approx 2 hours everything and anyone got in our way was hit with a tomato, was one of the funniest evenings ever, the following morning needless to say we were made to wash all the walls and clean up the mess which took us approx one whole day.!

My Parents would always arrive three hours late to this function, basically after everyone had left, they would love to make the most of this trip, stop of lunch on the way have a few bottles of champagne and wine and then show up to collect there son who was eagerly awaiting there arrival so I could leave and start my summer holidays, but this never happened. When they did finally arrive to collect me, they would invite my house master and his wife for a late lunch which ended up in dinner also,  every time during the dinner when HM tried to complain about me to my parents, my mother would cut him of and tell me off and say to me sorry for misbehaving, finally HM realised that there was no way for him to win and just enjoyed the afternoon / evening which honestly was a total nightmare for me as all I wanted to do was get the hell out of this place.

Winter time at school, you either played Football or Rugby! for me I loved playing Rugby as in the early days it was the only game where you could take out your frustration on the pitch and get away with it, without getting into trouble, we had the pleasure to play against many of the local teams from our area, when we played against any of the local teams we would board the bus already dressed in our Rugby Gear and the bus driver had a standing order to keep to bus running, because the moment the match was over and we had beaten the local teams rather badly, we would run straight to the bus and leave as our coach was scared of what the locals would do to us. One of our biggest rivals was Clifton College, these guys played really dirty and even the ref was on there side, we would leave the game with black eyes, cuts on the faces, chipped teeth and your whole body in pain as this was a full body contact game, they would try to inflict as much pain as possible to you, the best part was when we won the feeling was amazing, but once on the bus and heading back to the dorm and the adrenaline had worn off you knew you had been through a war!!

We also had the pleasure of playing against some welsh teams, we would leave school around 9.30am and take the bus to Wales, we would arrive at lunch time, during lunch our opposition would be having lunch and drinking beer, we asked our coach if we could also have some beer with our lunch and we basically he told us to fuck off.! On the way back one of the seniors had managed to secure a few bottles of beer from our opponents which was rather nice of them. The bus ride was approximately three hours back to school, we were all rather joyful as we had won for the first time against a welsh team, opposite the main school was a girls boarding house and on this Saturday they had a reception for the new parents and as we were passing by six of the rugby team decided to show all the girls and parents their amazing naked bums through the window, this obviously got them into a lot of trouble with head master and coach. But to see the faces of the parents was priceless 😊

XOXO
